ELEONOR WINSTON

Eleonor Winston was born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden and moved to New Orleans in 1992 to study jazz vocals at the University Of New Orleans under the direction of world renowned pianist Ellis Marsalis. When finishing her studies Eleonor settled in New Orleans and worked as a jazz vocal performer throughout the cities many restaurants and jazz clubs, the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as well as weddings and other private functions throughout the city. When Hurricane Katrina devastated the city in 2005 Eleonor and her husband (jazz saxophonist and director of the Tucson Jazz Institute) Brice Winston and their two daughters evacuated the city and decided to come to Brice’s hometown Tucson where they have resided since. Eleonor is performing regularly at the Tubac Country Club and other venues such as Old Pueblo Grille, Luna Bella, Hacienda Del Sol, The Westward Look, Nimbus, Tucson Estates, Acacia, Park Place mall, The Foothills Mall, The Berger Center, Festival Of Books and many private events and functions in Tucson. Eleonor works with the top jazz musicians in town including, Ed DeLucia, Matt Mitchell, Arthur Statman, Mark Usvolk, Kirk Kuykendall, Larry Redhouse, Ralph Gilmore, Pete Swan, Aaron Emery etc... and is quickly building a nice following. Her style is a mix of standard and contemporary jazz with influences such as Sarah Vaughan, Ella Fitzgerald, Diane Reeves and Gretchen Parlato.
